BIO
Philadelphia built, Carolina made revolutionist V of 40M aka the Architect of “Revolutionary Rap” has been setting the culture ablaze since his world introduction a little more than a few summers ago. As the member of 40M, also referred to as Forty Million Strong, a Black Independence people’s movement geared towards establishing sovereign land and autonomous rule for Blacks – V has stayed true to his mission by implementing the movement into every aspect of his music and bringing his fellow “M’s” along with him.
Though the movement is his focus, the music has become an important piece and medium in connecting the “M’s” with the masses. As he explains in multiple interviews, the purpose of V of 40M’s art is to inspire, inform, motivate and mobilize. With releases such as “the Score”, “Martin Luther”, “No Church on Sunday”, basically the entire catalog, there’s no questioning V’s unwavering dedication to purpose and the movement. In an industry that has hinged itself on the manipulation, exploitation and destruction of a particular people - it is beyond refreshing to have such a voice of power and progress courageous enough to go against all odds. The influence of HipHop, specifically Rap, cannot be measured at this point and its ability to move entire generations is undeniable. If it can move a people towards things like genocide, mass incarceration, disenfranchisement and much more then it can also lead them towards the direction of salvation. May the revolutionary pathway of the Melanite people continue until victory is won and we’re sure that if it’s up to V of 40M, that road can only lead to Independence and realization of a peoples’ Self-Determination as all human were created to do - heavy on the 4’s!
